Del Mar College is located in Corpus Christi and offers an Associate in Arts in Digital Media. Students have access to modern facilities, including a professional television set and various audio and video production rooms. Some of the required courses include television production, multimedia development, and computer applications in art.

Students also can choose to pursue an Associate in Arts in Radio and Television. Along with a practicum course in electronic media, this program includes classes such as radio and television announcing; audio and radio production; and writing for film, radio, and television.

Texas A & M University - Commerce

Located in Commerce, this public university offers Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science programs in radio-television with an emphasis in digital media production. Coursework covers media production and technologies, including video shooting and editing, radio-TV announcing, news practices, social media, and multi-camera TV production. Students also can earn credit through practicum courses in radio and television and an internship experience.

Texas Christian University

Fort Worth-based Texas Christian University offers a bachelor's degree program in film, television, and digital media that can lead to a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree. As part of the degree requirements, students complete a combination of critical studies, industry production, and sports broadcasting courses. Critical studies classes examine topics such as film and television genres, contemporary media, and media authorship, while industry courses focus on marketing and media business. Production courses provide hands-on training in areas like cinematography, lighting, directing, and writing; sports broadcasting courses cover topics such as sports production and broadcasting for sports.

Texas State Technical College - Harlingen

The Harlingen campus of Texas State Technical College offers an Associate of Applied Science in digital media design. This program requires 60 credit hours and is comprised of courses in digital publishing, graphics, and Web design. Upon graduation, students can pursue careers in video production, graphic art, and desktop publishing.

Texas Tech University

Texas Tech University is located in Lubbock. It offers a Bachelor of Arts in Electronic Media and Communications program that features courses in video production and editing, multimedia development, digital media production, and electronic media writing. Students learn the skills and processes used in electronic media communications through a practicum course, and they can build professional experience through a 160-hour internship.

University of Houston

This Houston university offers a Bachelor of Science in Digital Media program. Requiring 120 credit hours, this program is recognized by the Accrediting Council for Collegiate Graphic Communication. Students choose between emphases in eMedia, print media, eCommerce, video production, or packaging. This program offers internship opportunities, as well as courses in Web design, video planning, photography, and production. Students also complete a senior project.

The university's Clear Lake campus offers a Master of Arts in Digital Media Studies. Comprised of 36 credit hours, this program features courses emphasizing digital media concepts, design, and production. After completing core courses in graphic design and digital media, students can pursue specialized coursework pertaining to their particular areas of interest. These courses include media writing, computer game programming, video production, and desktop publishing, to name a few. Prior to graduation, students also complete a capstone experience consisting of a graduate internship, master's project, or master's thesis.

University of North Texas

Denton-based University of North Texas offers a 120-credit Bachelor of Arts in Radio, Television, and Film program. Along with practicum courses in radio, television, and film, the curriculum features production courses. Students' understanding of industry practices is also facilitated through courses in electronic media law and regulations, corporate media, media economics, and electronic media programming.

The University of Texas at Austin

Located in Austin, The University of Texas at Austin offers a Bachelor of Science in Radio, Television, and Film program. Emphasizing media history and production, this program has courses such as communication technology and society, radio and television history, narrative strategies, and digital media basics. Along with earning course credit, students can gain professional experience through the digital media internship program, which pairs students with local media companies to foster skill development and provide networking opportunities.

Students seeking a graduate-level education can pursue a Master of Fine Arts in Film and Media Production. Comprised of various studio and technical coursework, this program gives students the opportunity to direct multiple films, including a thesis film in their final year of study. Only 12 students are admitted each year, allowing accepted students to receive personalized attention.

The University of Texas at El Paso

Located in El Paso, The University of Texas at El Paso offers a Bachelor of Arts program in digital media production. In addition to courses in video editing and scriptwriting for television, this program features a practicum in documentary video and an internship requirement. The university's Department of Communication provides facilities including multiple production studios and labs, a sound recording booth, and editing software.
