Peace studies is a broad term for scholarly and professional research into the causes and consequences of conflict, as well as mechanisms for conflict resolution and prevention. Peace studies professionals can work at all levels, from helping to formulate public policy, preventing international conflict to participating in workplace labor disputes. Educational requirements depend largely upon the particular occupation sought after, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (www.bls.gov).
