According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), a bachelor's degree is the minimum degree requirement for athletic trainers, though many obtain master's or doctorate degrees. Dietitians and nutritionists also need a minimum of a bachelor's degree, though advanced degrees afford the best job opportunities. A master's degree also helps increase occupational advancement for health educators, though a bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement. A majority of states have licensure, certification and registration requirements for wellness studies occupations (www.bls.gov).
