About Central Christian College
With its origins dating back to 1884, Central Christian College of Kansas is known as the oldest junior college in the state. The school received accreditation to begin awarding bachelor's degrees in 1991, and in 1999 took on its current name as a baccalaureate institution. It is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and received recognition from the state's Department of Education to offer elementary and secondary education programs in 2009.
Future professionals such as accountants, business managers, teachers, law enforcement officers, counselors, and ministers could take the first step toward their career goals by entering a relevant two- or four-year degree program. Some programs are designed to meet the pre-professional requirements for those who wish to become chiropractors, veterinarians, lawyers, or doctors. In addition to business, fine arts, and education, a popular program is the exercise science program resulting in a Bachelor of Sport Science. Eight programs are offered online, including six bachelor's and two associate's degree programs in such areas as psychology, criminal justice, healthcare administration, and business administration.
Central Christian College of Kansas has been named among the top 80 in regional Midwest Colleges by U.S. News and World Report in 2019 and among the top 50 best value colleges by Great Value Colleges in 2017.
