About Florida National University

Florida National University was established in 1988 as Florida International Institute and became an accredited university offering more advanced degrees in 2012. The mission of the university is to promote learning and career advancement throughout a diverse community, and to meet the needs of every student by providing the educators and resources needed to succeed. Educational facilities include two campuses in Hialeah and Miami, Florida, the university's training center, various medical labs, libraries, and media resource rooms.

Florida National University's Associate of Arts and Associate of Science programs give students the chance to learn skills in a variety of medical fields such as radiology, dentistry, and nursing. Students could also be interested in pursuing degrees in hospitality, education, information technology, and business. In addition to on-campus classes, several associate's degree programs can be pursued online, aiming to give students the flexibility to work and go to school more easily. With the university's goal of convenient education in mind, some campus locations offer child care facilities, lighted parking, and shopping centers nearby as well as access for physically disabled people.

'Florida National University has not only given me the background knowledge to go into the medical field already knowing the inner workings of the medical field, but it gave me the flexibility that I needed to get where I needed to in life.'

-Luisa Maria De Souza, Florida National University graduate

'I think that what makes this school successful is that everybody was very helpful. Everyone was helpful from the financial aid offices to the admissions office. I remember that the dean and everyone knew that I was struggling, so they worked hard to keep me focused so that I could finish and succeed.'

-Jose Alvares, Florida National University graduate
