Indiana Institute of Technology

The Indiana Institute of Technology (Indiana Tech) is a private, not-for-profit university in Fort Wayne, Indiana. It offers career-focused programs in business, computer studies, criminal science, education, engineering, liberal arts, and physical sciences.

About Indiana Institute of Technology

Indiana Institute of Technology was originally founded as an engineering college for men in 1930, and it now enrolls more than 1,000 students in a variety of academic programs in in-demand fields. Indiana Tech has a main campus near downtown Fort Wayne, IN, as well as several regional campuses located throughout Indiana and Kentucky.

Academic programs at Indiana Tech are offered at the associate's, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels through seven colleges, schools and centers: the College of Business, College of Engineering, College of General Studies, School of Computer Sciences, School of Education, Center for Criminal Justice, and College of Law. Each program includes relevant coursework as well as hands-on learning options, projects, and internships to help students develop experience for their resume. Program options range from an associate's degree in accounting to a Master of Business Administration and Juris Doctor. Some of the most popular programs are in business, computer science, criminal justice, education, engineering, and general studies.

Besides traditional on-campus programs, Indiana Tech offers many professionally oriented degree programs designed for adult students who cannot attend college full time or in a traditional format through its College of Professional Studies (CPS). Undergraduate programs offered through the CPS often include the same curriculum requirements as the on-campus program, and students must complete their work in a set time period. Some programs have an accelerated option where an entire semester of material is covered in five weeks, though some quantitative courses require 10 weeks. CPS graduate-level programs are also available as accelerated degree programs. In these programs, a full semester of graduate-level material is covered in six weeks, with some quantitative courses requiring 12 weeks.

Indiana Tech students have variety of options for paying for their education, including federal and state grants and loans, scholarships, work-study programs, and military benefits. The school also has a textbook rental program that is included in the cost of tuition which eliminates the high cost of purchasing textbooks each semester.

'Indiana Tech knew how to handle my military benefits and got me set up to achieve my two associate's degrees, my bachelor's and now I'm in pursuit of my master's degree. It's opened a lot of opportunities for me and broadened my horizons for promotion.'

-Aaron Pence, Indiana Tech Graduate

'One of the things that impressed me most about the MBA program at Indiana Tech was that the instructors are knowledgeable, experienced professionals. They're not just teaching the theory, they've been there they've done that and they're able to share real world examples as to how to apply the principles they're giving.'

-Darrin Buffington, Indiana Tech Graduate

'Indiana Tech was a perfect fit for me. The quick responses I received from the enrollment staff, the 5-week courses, plus the support I got from the professors - it was such as positive experience, I want everyone to have that opportunity.'

-Michelle Crone, Indiana Tech Graduate

'The reason I decided to attend Indiana Tech was the 5-week option for classes. Going back to college terrified me. I had no idea how to study and traditional classes were just overwhelming to me. The option of a 5-week course resonated and seemed like something that was doable. Learning to balance family, work and life was very important, I didn't want to just go to college and by consumed with just college.'

-Nate Wayman, Indiana Tech Graduate
