About Maryville University
Maryville University of St. Louis has been offering degree programs for traditional and adult learners for more than 150 years. Originally founded in 1872, this private non-profit school now enrolls more than 9,000 students in its online and on-campus programs. Maryville University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools; some programs have earned additional programmatic accreditation.
Maryville Online offers more than 30+ online programs in fields that are in demand from employers and designed to develop future leaders. Degrees are available at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and some of the most popular programs include the bachelor's in criminal justice, RN to BSN, Master of Business Administration, and master's in health administration. Additional programs are available in the computer science, education, liberal arts, science and math, business, social sciences, healthcare, and human services fields.
The majority of faculty members hold a Ph.D. or terminal degree in their field, and classes are kept small (with an average of 20 students per class) so students can receive personalized support from their instructors. Online students at Maryville get support from a student advisor throughout their degree programs and individualized academic advising and career exploration services are available.
'The online nursing experience is much different than the classroom experience. We work in groups as classmates, and we network with each other -- sometimes with students in other states even. And that really helps us share ideas and get to know how other people do things.'
-Elizabeth Miller, Online Nursing Student
'I started off with more on-ground classes and transitioned to the online classes, and that allowed me to stay late at work. Then when I would get home, I would study. Having that opportunity to sit around on a Sunday to do homework was a great thing.'
-Robert Tschopp, MBA Alum
'I think Maryville has figured out how to do quality online education where they create genuine, deep learning communities.'
-Jill Lane, Online EdD Graduate
- Must be a high school graduate or have completed GED
