About Westside Tech

Westside Tech is a technical center located in Winter Garden, FL. The school is part of the Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) network, which consists of four technical centers and five campuses in Orlando and its surrounding area.

Westside Tech offers technical certificates in 15 areas, such as building construction technology, barbering, culinary arts, pharmacy technology and massage therapy. The aim of each certificate program is to provide students with the training and certification necessary to enter the workforce. Culinary arts and mechanic and repair technologies were the most popular divisions among graduating students in 2011. This school also offers Adult Basic Education (ABE), English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and General Educational Development (GED) preparation programs.

Westside Tech has an open admissions policy. In general, students are enrolled every three weeks. However, this rule does not apply to all programs, so students should check with the college about their program of interest. An information and interview session with a counselor at Westside Tech is a required part of the application process; students can learn more about the program they wish to attend.

Prospective students can apply on the school's website. After being notified of acceptance, students must sit for placement testing and attend an orientation session.
