About Yuba College
Yuba College is a 2-year public school that serves a 4,192 square-mile district comprised of all or part of six California counties. The college's 160-acre main campus has provided educational opportunities to students since 1927. In addition to its main campus, the school operates two satellite campuses and also offers classes at Beale Air Force Base.
Yuba College operates six academic divisions: Mathematics, Engineering, Science and Health Occupations, Health and Physical Education, Business and Technology, Language Arts, Social Sciences and the Fine Arts. Through these divisions, it offers over 60 associate's degree and certificate programs. Some of these programs are designed for students seeking to transfer to a 4-year institution, while others provide career preparation or are pre-professional programs.
Examples of fields of study include drafting technology, engineering, information technology, physical education, nursing, music and agriculture. In 2011, the most popular field of study for associate's degree students was the liberal arts and sciences. At that same time, the most popular field of study among certificate program students was cosmetology.
Yuba College operates on an open admissions policy and accepts applications year round. Applications can be submitted online and must include official high school transcripts or transcripts from any colleges previously attended.
After admission, students must take a college placement examination, complete an orientation program and meet with an academic counselor. The orientation can be completed online, but counselor meetings must be attended on campus.
