Las Vegas Global Business Management Schools

The Las Vegas area offers a few opportunities to take courses in global business management, which is sometimes referred to as international business management. In most cases, international business is offered as a degree concentration, or individual coursework is incorporated into general business programs. This article highlights the curricula at three schools and includes a table that allows you to easily compare stats on the institutions.

  • The University of Las Vegas Nevada (UNLV) offers an international business concentration in its business administration bachelor's degree program; it also has Master of Business Administration (MBA) and executive MBA programs that cover global business issues. The campus is just three miles from the city center.
  • Located about 19 miles from downtown Las Vegas, Nevada State College (NSC) has a bachelor's degree program in business administration, which offers required and elective courses in global business management.
  • With nearly 38,000 students, the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is the largest of these three schools and offers an international business management concentration through its business management associate's-level program. Students can find the campus around seven miles from central Vegas.

University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV)

The University of Nevada Las Vegas offers a range of bachelor's and master's degree programs through which students may take courses in global business management. It's also one of the few schools in the area that offers a major in international business.

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - International Business

UNLV's bachelor's degree program in international business is a multidisciplinary program that emphasizes comprehensive training in the liberal arts along with instruction in foreign investment, intellectual property and international trade. Graduates from this program can be prepared for careers in a variety of sectors, such as law, economics and government. Courses may cover subjects like international economics, international management, international marketing and global business strategy. Students also have the option to pursue a business internship as long as it allows the student to focus on international business concepts.

Master of Business Administration

The general MBA program at UNLV is designed to help students succeed in the global marketplace. Students in this program can learn about international business culture, leadership and business communications, all of which may be useful to those interested in global management training. The program is also highly flexible, offering students the option of completing their studies in the evening on a full- or part-time basis.

Incoming students need to have taken the GMAT and provide university level transcripts in addition to other admission requirements. The school prefers applicants who have two years of related work experience as well.

Executive MBA

This program is designed for individuals already working in executive positions and desire advanced academic training to enhance their professional skills. Classes are conducted on the weekends, and the program can be completed in 18 months. In addition to one course in international business, the program also includes an international seminar. The seminar allows students the opportunity to visit and study business operations overseas.

Nevada State College (NSC)

Currently, NSC only offers one program through which students may pursue a business degree. Students can take courses in global business management through the college's School of Education, which administers the bachelor's degree in business administration.

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration

Although this degree program is not explicitly called global business administration, the school places particular importance on preparing students for the global economy. Students are required to take a course in international management, along with courses in marketing, operations and information systems. The program also teaches students about the technologies used in the business world and allows students to use various technologies in the classroom. Students also have the opportunity to choose from three capstone courses, one of which is focused on global business strategies. The entire program requires a total of 124 credits.

College of Southern Nevada

Students can take courses in global business through the College of Southern Nevada's associate's degree program in business management with an emphasis in international business management.

Associate of Applied Science in Business Management - International Business Management

This degree program is designed for aspiring business professionals who seek management expertise suitable for managing people in a global business setting. Global business courses available include fundamentals of international business, international marketing, international management and legal aspects of international business. The program requires a total of 61 credits.
