Johnson County Community College
Johnson County Community College offers a Hospitality Management Club for students to participate in. In addition to associate's degree programs in hospitality management and related fields, students can complete a certificate programs in baking.
Associate of Applied Science in Chef Apprenticeship
The American Culinary Federation, the U.S. Department of Labor and the Greater Kansas City Chefs Association sponsor this program. Students can earn their degree in three years and learn about food preparation, hospitality accounting, supervisory management and menu planning. Across 6,000 training hours, students receive instruction by an American Culinary Federation chef member.
Associate of Applied Science in Food and Beverage Management
The food and beverage management program prepares students for employment as assistant managers or trainees. Courses are focused on design techniques, advanced hospitality management and food management. Students also learn about food preparation, nutrition and beverage control.
Associate of Applied Science in Hotel and Lodging Management
Students learn about risk management, hotel sales, front office management and professional cooking. The program features seminars in housekeeping operations, purchasing, menu planning and loss prevention.
