Education Definition

Education & teaching is a multi-disciplinary field which draws from many fields in the social sciences, including psychology, sociology, and communication studies. Education also involves the study of pedagogy, which is the examination of theories, methods, and practices involved in teaching. Those who study education examine each of the component disciplines and will examine and use concepts from those areas to enhance student learning. Most educators are practitioners who teach students, but many are also theorists who conduct empirical studies designed to determine the optimal conditions and methods for learning.
