Essential Information

Individuals interested in pursuing careers in heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) can earn a diploma, certificate or associate's degree in the field. Usually offered by trade schools and community colleges, these programs help students prepare for entry-level certification exams in the HVAC field, as well as required state licensure exams. Diploma and certificate programs can be completed in as little as six months and can lead to faster entry into the workforce than a 2-year HVAC associate's degree program. Students in all programs usually get hands-on practice installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems.

Established in 1992, Nunez Community College is located just east of New Orleans in Chalmette, Louisiana.
