There are several public and private schools in Tennessee that offer marketing programs. Students can learn marketing through a minor, bachelor's or master's degree program. Many schools offer business administration programs with concentrations in marketing. There may be electives in specialty marketing areas, such as sales or retail. Belmont University

Located in Nashville, this university offers multiple program options, including undergraduate and graduate programs focused on marketing as well as a marketing minor for non-business students. Belmont University has a marketing organization for students, and the faculty members have received awards and had work published in marketing journals. The bachelor's degree program in marketing provides courses in advertising principles, market research and strategic marketing management.

At the graduate level, two Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs have concentrations in marketing. MBA students can expect to take a set of core business courses in addition to receiving specialized instruction in marketing. Courses in the accelerated MBA program are offered Monday through Thursday during the evenings. Students in the MBA programs are also required to complete an international study-abroad experience.

East Tennessee State University

This university is found in Johnson City and offers a marketing minor for students interested in learning basic business and marketing principles. The bachelor's degree program in marketing has three concentration options: integrated marketing communications, marketing management and merchandising. Undergraduate marketing students take courses like consumer behavior, marketing research and marketing management. Lincoln Memorial University

Middle Tennessee State University

Tennessee Technological University

Located in Cookeville, this institution offers a bachelor's degree program in marketing. Undergraduate students can learn about principles in business management, finance and economics. The program includes courses like marketing strategy and marketing research and allows students to choose 15 credits of marketing electives. The marketing club provides extracurricular activities and career advice to business and marketing students.

University of Memphis

The University of Memphis offers a bachelor's degree and minor in marketing management as well as a PhD program in business administration with a marketing concentration. Students in the bachelor's program can expect to take courses like consumer behavior, marketing research and marketing strategy. Electives include topics in negotiation skills and sales management. The minor program requires business majors to complete 12 credits of coursework and non-business students to take 18 credits of courses. The University of Memphis is also home to the Student Marketing Association, which provides marketing students with additional opportunities to learn new skills and meet industry professionals.

The University of Tennessee
