Individuals interested in studying marketing in Georgia may choose from a variety of schools across the state. Only one of the largest schools in Georgia offers a diploma program in marketing, but the other nine schools offer programs ranging from certificates and associate's degrees to master's and doctoral degrees in marketing. Many programs are offered through a school's business department. Some schools' programs include fieldwork experiences, such as internships.

Chattahoochee Technical College
This 2-year school is found in Marietta and has two programs in marketing management. In the diploma program, students complete 57 credit hours of coursework and can choose from marketing management or sports marketing concentrations. All students take courses in professional sales, international marketing and marketing research, while those in the management concentration can select courses on consumer behavior and marketing channels. The associate's degree program offers the same courses as the diploma program but has additional general education requirements.
Emory University in Atlanta offers certificate, undergraduate and graduate degree programs in marketing. The university's digital marketing certificate program covers social media, search engine optimization and e-commerce, in addition to corporate branding and business development. The bachelor's degree program in business administration offers a concentration in marketing that trains students on marketing strategies, consumer behavior and brand management. Courses include digital marketing, advertising communications and channel retailing. In the master's degree program, students focus on marketing strategy and participate in lab courses that provide real-world experience. Marketing analytics is the focus of the Ph.D. program, which allows students to tailor their research to their particular interests.
Georgia Institute of Technology
Located in Atlanta, Georgia Institute of Technology has a bachelor's degree in business administration program with a concentration in marketing. Students can learn about the global marketplace and the technologies used to drive business. Marketing courses include marketing research, strategic brand management, advertising and promotions, digital marketing, consumer behavior and electronic commerce. Students must earn a grade of 'C' or better in all marketing courses.
Georgia State University
Georgia State University in Atlanta offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in marketing. In the bachelor's degree program, students study advertising and promotion, markets and customers, product development and distribution methods. The MBA program in marketing prepares individuals for leadership positions within business management or entrepreneurial posts. A 1-year Master of Science program is also available. Georgia Southern University
Statesboro's George Southern University has a bachelor's degree program with specializations in sales and sales management, retail management and fashion merchandising. Students learn how to develop marketing programs and strategies and to assist companies in targeting a specific audience. The university also offers a doctorate in logistics with a concentration in marketing. This 60-credit program requires a master's degree in business.
Kennesaw State University
Found in Kennesaw, Kennesaw State University's bachelor's degree program in marketing provides students with practical as well as theoretical training. In addition to a general track in marketing, the program has specializations in retail management, marketing communications and professional sales. To enter this business school major, students must earn a 'C' or better in all business courses that count toward their degree. This 123-credit program includes marketing courses such as sales management, advertising, promotion strategy, entertainment marketing, business to business marketing and social media marketing.
Mercer University in Macon offers a bachelor's degree in marketing program that covers areas such as branding, consumer trends and customer service. Students learn about industrial and consumer markets, pricing strategies, sales promotions, distribution channels and other functions of marketing. Internships are available. Students must also complete required business core courses, such as marketing research and strategic marketing management.
University of Georgia
Students at the University of Georgia in Athens can choose from undergraduate and graduate degree programs in marketing. The 121-hour bachelor's degree in marketing program includes courses in direct marketing, sales management, advertising, promotion and services marketing. Students must complete a 200-hour internship. The master's degree program in marketing research has a dedicated classroom and computer center. The doctorate program has an emphasis in marketing and is designed for individuals seeking teaching and research positions at universities and colleges. This is a 4-year program that includes paper presentations, a written preliminary examination and a dissertation.
University of West Georgia
Located in Carrollton, the University of West Georgia's bachelor's degree in marketing program prepares students for careers in brand/product management, public relations, advertising and retailing. This 120-credit hour program features major courses in business research, electronic marketing, consumer behavior, international marketing and advanced market research. Internships are available.
Valdosta State University
Valdosta State University, in Valdosta, offers a bachelor's degree in marketing program designed to give students skills in distribution, promotion, sales, marketing strategies, marketing research and consumer behavior. The program offers small class sizes. Students get hands-on training creating business plans and marketing strategies with local businesses.
