Based in Fullerton, the university offers multiple traditional on-campus master's degree programs, as well as various online-only master's degree programs in education. Areas of focus offered solely online include educational technology and educational administration. Additionally, these content areas are offered in a traditional classroom setting and hybrid format. Learning areas of focus only offered in a traditional classroom setting include elementary education, bilingual education, elementary education curriculum and instruction, secondary education, reading education, and instructional design and technology and special education. California State University - Long Beach
Long Beach's California State University - Long Beach offers master's degree programs in multiple areas of focus including early childhood education, elementary and secondary education, mathematics, educational administration, student development in higher education, and special education. Additionally, students may obtain a master's degree in dual-language development, which examines native and bilingual English speakers in K-12 and adult education. California State University - Northridge
Located in Northridge, the university is part of the expansive California State University system. San Diego State University
The university, located in San Diego, offers multiple master's degree programs through eight departments in the College of Education. Online master's degree programs are offered in educational leadership and teaching: elementary education or secondary education. San Francisco State University
San Francisco-based San Francisco State University provides master's degree programs in early childhood education, elementary education, secondary education, special education, and leadership studies. In 2011, the university began the student teaching intensive developmental teacher education master's degree program. The full-time 15-month program is student teaching intensive and leads to a master's degree and a specialization credential in various subjects. The Education Psychology Library, located on-campus, holds more than 175,000 titles and more than 900 journals. The university opened a charter school, California Prep Academy, in 2004.
University of California - Davis
Located in Davis, the university offers a master's degree program in education with varying specialization options, which may include psychological studies, socio-cultural studies, educational assessment and measurement, and instructional studies. The master's degree program is offered in conjunction with a teaching credential, and students obtain the teaching credential after the first year of the master's degree program. After obtaining the teaching credential, students complete the master's degree program part-time over the course of two academic quarters. Furthermore, students may complete a general education curriculum and earn a master's degree in education without earning a teaching credential. University of California - Los Angeles
