Mind Body Institute

Opened as the Institute of Therapeutic Massage and Movement in 1996 and since purchased and renamed, the Mind Body Institute has been in business in Nashville since 2007. Staffed by licensed massage therapists, a chiropractor and a massage therapist who specializes in lymphatic drainage, the instructors in this program offer students a wide breadth of clinical experience.

Massage Therapy Diploma

Designed for working students, this massage therapy certification program consists of 36 weeks of training. The 700-hour program is completed in about nine months with 100 hours of clinical internship included. Courses cover anatomy, physiology, massage theory and practice as well as alternative techniques such as hydrotherapy, yoga and acupressure points. Graduates should be qualified to take the state licensure exam. Continuing education is also offered for licensed therapists who would like to expand their clinical knowledge.
