Are you ready to start your journey as a new teacher, but aren't sure what tests you'll need to take? The National Evaluation Series (NES) exams are used for entry-level primary and secondary teacher certification purposes in several states, including Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, New Mexico, Oregon, Washington and Wisconsin. You may need to take one or more NES exams if you are a soon-to-be teacher who needs to become certified in one of these states, or if you're a current teacher seeking certification in a new academic subject, like physical education or social science.

There are three types of NES exams available. The Professional Knowledge Assessments measure competency in elementary and secondary school subject areas. The Essential Academic Skills Assessments assesses your instructional aptitude in reading, writing, math and technology. Finally, there are the NES Content Area Assessments, which are designed to assess your understanding of common K-12 subjects, from health to history. These computer-based exams are offered throughout the year, so check with your state's teaching certification agency to get details on the full teacher certification process.

If you've determined you'll need to take an NES exam, let us prepare you for a successful test day! We've got you covered with everything you need for effective exam preparation, including useful NES study guides, personalized instruction, and NES practice tests. You can get started by taking an initial NES practice test at no cost to you. Just select the practice test for the NES exam you need to take, and we'll give you a completely free 15-question practice assessment that evaluates your strengths and weakness. From there, we'll recommend study plans that are catered to your specific needs. After you take your practice test, you'll start your test preparation journey with one or more of our 37 comprehensive NES courses.

Our study guide courses break down all the concepts you'll need to review for your NES exam. We offer short and expertly taught lessons that cover the essential topics that appear on your NES test. These lessons are typically 5-10 minutes in length, so you can study when you have a few free moments in your schedule. Study on-the-go at home, work, a coffee shop, or wherever life takes you!

The courses also come with NES practice tests to help you see how well you're understanding the material. By taking these practice tests, you'll get comfortable answering the types of questions that appear on the exam. Each practice test comes with a diagnostic that helps you identify which subjects you've mastered and the ones you should review.

We know life can get busy, and finding the time to study for a big exam can be difficult. That's why we've included a study tool to help you stay on track. Once you know your exam date, just enter it into the study tool and we'll create a customized schedule that keeps you on track with reminders. Our expert tutors are also available and happy to assist you if you have any questions about NES exams or the concepts that you'll be tested on.

If you're ready to begin the teacher certification process, start with one of our free NES practice tests. There's no risk involved, so start studying today!

Teachers recommend Study.com for NES test prep

The information seems to be there. It''s a great resource for study. I will be sure to purchase the actual NES practice exam to get a feel of their format. Love that Study.com can help me learn about all the material on the test. I enjoy Study.com mostly because all the information is here and I don't need to go searching in other places.

I used Study.com to prepare for a Praxis Test. I had not taken any of the 4 courses which were covered on the test. Studied intensively for 12 days - finished the Study.com course AND I passed the Praxis.

I am a 40 year old that was studying for the Praxis. It has been a VERY long time since i had to study for anything and study.com made the material SO digestible and accessible. It was so well organized that it eased my anxiety so much! I didn't get through the entire course (but that's on me!) but what I did helped me SO much - I would definitely recommend it in the future to anyone, even my own kids!
