Rindge-based Franklin Pierce University has a graduate-level certificate and degree program in human resource management. Students can complete either program online or through a combination of online and campus-based classes. The certificate program requires 5 classes, including employee compensation packages, employee development and conflict mediation. Course credits from the certificate program may transfer to the master's program in human resource management.
The Master of Business Administration in Human Resource Management program is New Hampshire's only master's program approved by the Society for Human Resource Management.(SHRM). Students complete core business classes like economics, financial administration, tactical management and management procedures. The human resource management curriculum covers topics such as executive communications, group behavior, employee compensation packages, employee development and conflict mediation. In addition to completing the certificate and degree programs, students can join the student chapter of SHRM.
Nashua Community College
This 2-year college in Nashua offers an undergraduate certificate program in human resources management. Students can complete this 12-credit program in the day or evening. Classes include management principles, legal aspects of business, employment relations administration and principles of human resource administration.
Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU)
Students in Manchester have the most human resource program options available to them by attending this university. SNHU has a certificate and degree program in the field at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. All programs are offered online and on-campus. To earn the undergraduate certificate in human resource management, students must complete 6 classes, which can also transfer to the bachelor's degree program. Classes include labor relations, compensation and benefits, organizational dynamics and human resources practices.
The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) program offers a concentration in human resources management. All students in the BSBA program take 24 credits of core business classes, regardless of their chosen concentration. Concentration classes include classes in employee compensation packages, human resource practices and managing organizational dynamics. Alternatively, students can complete the Bachelor of Science in Business Studies program. Coursework is similar to the BSBA program and includes the 24-credit core business curriculum. However, students may complete more human resource management-focused classes in this option, and they also have more flexibility by choosing 30 credits of electives.
At the graduate-level, students can earn a certificate in human resource management by completing 5 courses. Three classes are mandatory: organizational behavior, human resource management strategies and strategic leadership. The other 2 classes are chosen by the student from a list of 4 approved courses: labor relations, employee compensation, managing nonprofit organizations and ethical leadership. All courses may transfer to the master's degree program in human resources.
The Master of Business Administration program offers a specialization in human resources. Students without sufficient undergraduate preparation may need to complete foundational coursework. All students in this program complete various business classes, regardless of their specialty. These classes may include managerial economics, managerial accounting, business operations and computer applications. The human resources specialty requires 3 classes in employee compensation, human resource management strategies and strategic leadership.
