Central New Mexico Community College

Central New Mexico Community College in Albuquerque offers two biotechnology programs through the School of Math, Science, & Engineering. The Associate of Science in Biotechnology and Certificate of Completion in Biotechnology programs delve into DNA and protein analysis, bioinformatics, disease diagnosis and treatment, and proteomics. Courses in both programs include molecular biology, immunology, recombinant DNA, tissue culture, and protein purification. Students can also expect to participate in hands-on laboratory work.

Students who pursue the associate's degree program take additional courses in chemistry, biochemistry, and mathematics. The program also offers internship opportunities. The certificate program is intended for students who are seeking additional knowledge and industry skills in biotechnology. Admission to the certificate program requires students to possess a Bachelor of Science degree; alternatively, they can qualify by completing college-level courses in chemistry, biochemistry, and biological sciences.

Northern New Mexico College
