NHTI, Concord's Community College's Technical Programs

NHTI, Concord's Community College was formerly known as the New Hampshire Technical Institute. The 2-year public college, located in Concord, NH, provides certificate and associate's degree programs in over 60 academic areas, including traditionally technical programs. Flexible course schedules are available and some courses are offered online.

Computer Aided Design (CAD) Certificate, Architectural Concentration

The CAD certificate program is an 18-credit-hour program that teaches students to use AutoCAD and other design software to create 2-D and 3-D drawings. Classes cover architectural modeling and drafting, creating floor plans, site selection and foundation loads.

Associate in Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology

Students train to become technicians in the field of mechanical engineering through this program. The program covers theory and practical application and has a strong focus on computer-aided drafting and design.

Associate in Science in Dental Hygiene

Students can train to become dental hygienists through this 2-year program. A campus clinic provides opportunities for hands-on training. The curriculum covers nutrition and the biological sciences, as well as dental science.

Associate in Science in Information Technology

Computer programming, database design, hardware design and computer networking are covered during the first year of this IT program. During the second year, students select courses which focus on either network design and administration or applications development.

Manchester Community College's Technical Programs

Manchester Community College (MCC) was also formerly a vocational-technical college and still maintains its programming to train qualified technicians in a variety of fields. MCC is located in Manchester, in the southeast region of the state. It offers 31 different associate's degrees and 35 certificate programs.

Associate of Applied Science in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC)

The HVAC program provides training for those seeking careers as technicians working with climate control systems in residential and commercial structures. Students study theory along with application of skills, business practices and estimating.

Associate of Applied Science in Automotive Technology

This 2-year program provides opportunities for practical hands-on automotive repair training through paid co-op experiences. Students can tailor the curriculum to specialize in Chrysler or Ford, or have a more general focus on vehicles from the U.S., Asia or Europe.

Associate of Applied Science in Graphic Design

Graphic design students learn to use design skills and concepts to create communications and advertisements. Coursework covers color use, typography, design principles, advertising concept and layout techniques.

Associate of Applied Science in Welding

The degree program in welding covers standard welding techniques, welding theories, blueprint reading and safety issues. Students can also opt to pursue a professional certificate in this subject.

Great Bay Community College Programs

This school offers certificates and associate's degrees in a variety of areas including finance, business and science. There are even professional development programs available online.

Massage Therapy Certificate

This program's curriculum is approved by the State of New Hampshire Massage Therapy Board. Students will be prepared for professional credential exams through courses in physiology, ethics and anatomy. They will need to purchase a massage table and chair for home practice. Courses usually take one year to complete.

Veterinary Practice Management Certificate

This program can be ideal for working professionals seeking to enhance their knowledge or prepare for professional certification. Courses cover accounting, medical terminology and applicable law, among other topics. Graduates will meet the education qualifications for the the Veterinary Hospital Manager's Association (VHMA) certification exam.

Medical Office Administrative Assistant Certificate

This program prepares students to handle administrative tasks, such as managing records, arranging services, and handling bookkeeping in medical facilities. Course topics include vocabulary, coding and computer applications.
