Ferris State University

The School of Nursing at Ferris State University offers a Master of Science in Nursing along with three concentrations, including nursing administration, nursing education and nursing informatics. Additional nursing programs at Ferris State University include the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Registered Nurse (RN)-BSN completion program, RN to MSN program and a nursing education certificate. The College of Health Professions at the university also features a Department of Dental Hygiene and Medical Imaging and Department of Clinical Science, Respiratory Care and Health Care System Administration.

Master of Science in Nursing - Nursing Administration

Applicants to this program must hold a bachelor's degree, a current RN license and have clinical nursing experience totaling two years. The nursing administration track is designed for students who want to move from general practical nursing into leadership roles. The program consists of 37 credit hours, including core nursing classes, nursing administration specialty courses and clinical practicums. Required courses include nursing research, advanced roles in nursing and theoretical foundations in nursing practice. Nursing administration courses teach students about performance metrics, organizational leadership, project management and resource systems. Graduate students also propose and present a nursing research project. The program culminates in a comprehensive exam.
