Program Information

Online courses in occupational therapy assisting are most common at the associate degree level, although some online career schools may offer them through diploma programs. Due to the hands-on nature of the occupational therapy field, most associate degree programs are offered in a hybrid format, which combines online coursework with in-person fieldwork. Online courses, in addition to local certified fieldwork in the occupational therapy field, prepare students for the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy exam, which is required in states that mandate licensure.
