Portland State University

This degree, defined by the School of Business as fitting between an undergraduate minor and major, prepares students to communicate and work with people in a variety of work environments. Emphasizing communication and organizational skills, the program offers courses on human resources training design, employee interviewing and selection, group dynamics, organizational communication and legal and regulatory business practices. With this 48-credit certificate, students can pursue entry-level, nonsupervisory positions within financial, manufacturing, technology and other business industries. Students can also continue working toward a bachelor's degree in business administration.
