Phoenix College

Phoenix College offers a range of emergency medical technology certificate programs. To participate in the paramedic training program, students must pass entrance exams, submit a letter of recommendation from a referring agency and go through an interview process. Students also need to do at least one of the following: pass the EMT-B course, get Arizona EMT certification (or equivalent), get Arizona paramedic certification or get permission from the program director to enroll.

Certificate of Completion Emergency Medical Technology

Coursework in this 9- to 10-credit program covers CPR and Basic Life Support as well as EMT practices. Practical applications of all concepts studied in the program is part of the curriculum. A student must earn a 'C' or better in this program.

Estrella Mountain Community College

Students seeking to enter the certificate program in emergency medical technology (EMT) must be at least 17 1/2 years of age and obtain minimum scores on reading and math placement exams. This program meets national standards for EMT training programs.

Certificate of Completion in Emergency Medical Technology

Offered at the school's main campus, this EMT certificate program can be completed in just 16-17 weeks. The curriculum includes participation in simulated exercises allowing for the practical application of techniques studied throughout the program.

Mesa Community College

Offered in the area of health science, MCC's EMT program contains 9-10 credits and has studies that can be completed in one term. Financial aid is not available for this program.

Certificate of Completion in Emergency Medical Technology

As a prerequisite program for other EMT programs, this certificate covers all basic information for beginning EMTs, such as CPR and Basic Life Support. Students learn how to care for trauma injuries and illnesses and go over methods for assessing and immobilizing patients.
