Program Description:

The Master of Science in Legal Studies program is intended to provide students with an understanding of legal doctrine and the theories behind them. The program offers two different tracks: an Applied Research Track and a Comprehensive Exam Track, which culminate in different capstone options for completion. Coursework is designed to develop a student's foundational knowledge of the American legal systems, methods of legal research and writing, ethical decision making, and history of the legal system. Upon completion of a student's coursework, they have the opportunity to pursue careers in law-related fields in government or business. It is important to note that this program does not prepare students to practice law or to sit for any state bar exam.
