Program Description:

The Doctor of Information Technology with a specialization in Information Assurance and Security program at Capella University provides students with the opportunity to learn about managerial practices in assurance controls and compliance and develop an understanding of the role of information assurance and security in decision-making processes. In specialization courses, students will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of network security and system and application security through the evaluation of current research; risk modeling and management; management processes in data protection; and compliance standards in company data protection. Core classes provide study in IT policy, governance, research, and leadership. Students also choose a seminar in IT consulting or education and complete a 3-part mentored residency and dissertation process resulting in data gathering, proposal preparation, and a publishable dissertation.
