Applicants to the Graphic Design diploma program may have a creative flair and some basic computer functions or technical skills. All CDI College applicants must be high school graduates or the equivalent. Some programs may have additional requirements.
The Graphic Design program offered by CDI College is designed to provide students with both the technical and professional skills needed to succeed in this field. Students also receive a strong foundation in creative studies through classes in drawing, colour theory, and typography, as well as train on industry-current software like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver. Additional courses instruct students on such topics as Web design, digital photography, packaging design, page layouts, and portfolio production. Some campuses also offer a practicum, where students are placed in real workplaces to gain valuable hands-on experience.
