The Health Care Assistant (HCA) diploma program offered by CDI College is designed to help students gain the skills to provide needed assistance to elderly, chronically ill, and disabled populations. Students first complete classes on the role of an HCA in the British Columbia health care system before learning how to provide care for specific needs, such as to those with dementia or with physical disabilities, as well as for specific environments, such as palliative care facilitates or acute care settings. This program also includes two work experiences where students get supervised hands-on training and the chance to practice what they have learned. Graduates of CDI College's HCA diploma program are eligible for registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.
