Applicants to the PhD-TIM in IT Project Management program should have some experience working on technology projects as well as interest in growing their research and leadership skills. Computer skills, as well as strong organizational and communication skills, are also helpful. All applicants to NCU's Doctor of Philosophy in Technology and Innovation Management programs must have a master's or doctoral degree from an accredited university.

Program Description:

The PhD in Technology and Innovation Management with a specialization in IT Project Management allows students to develop effective project management techniques for technology projects as well as help them advance their leadership skills and prepare them to become advocates for technology and positive change in an organization. Students have the opportunity to study risk management planning and monitoring, total quality management principles and implementation, and advanced leadership and human resources concepts that relate to project management. In addition, the program is designed to provide students with an understanding of the project management process for projects related to developing new technologies and ideas, the systems and tools used to track and monitor these projects, and current trends in IT project management. Students must also complete dissertation research project and a portfolio course.

This program may be completed in 60 credits. However, additional credit hours can be taken, if needed, to complete dissertation research.

Financial aid is available to qualifying students. Graduate students may apply for the Federal Stafford Loan or the Federal Graduate PLUS Loan. Military personnel and veterans may qualify for special assistance or tuition reduction.
