The online Auto Repair Technician Career Diploma program offered by Penn Foster College is designed to provide students with knowledge of how to troubleshoot and repair major automotive systems when issues arise. Students have the opportunity to learn how to remove an engine and rebuild it while also learning how to inspect the brake, steering, and suspension systems, among others. During this training, students can also learn to follow safety procedures within a workshop, identify appropriate tools for specific jobs, and explain how to use vehicle computer systems for diagnostics and repair. Students can also gain an understanding of what steps are needed to obtain certification in the auto repair industry and participate in an optional work experience once program coursework is completed.
