Program Description:

The Master of Social Work - Advanced Clinical Practice (2-Year Program) at Saint Leo University is designed to help students build a deeper understanding of social work and social welfare systems, intervention methods, theories, and human behavior. Foundational courses might address such topics as impacts on human behavior, social policy development, social work research methodologies, and methods for working with victims of child abuse and neglect. The curriculum also focuses on clinical approaches to individuals, groups, and families. Advanced courses in the second year might discuss mental health assessment and diagnostic tools and advanced clinical methods for treating individuals. Courses might also be taken that address evaluation and treatment of substance abuse and traumatic events as well as areas of child protection services such as foster care and adoption.
