Program Description:

The curriculum of the Master of Social Work - Advanced Clinical Practice (3-Year Program) at Saint Leo University provides students with the opportunity to explore advanced social work and clinical practices, processes, and theories for groups, individuals, children, families, and even military personnel. The program starts with foundational coursework that might address social human behavior, social welfare programs and systems, social research methodologies, and assessment and treatment approaches for child abuse/neglect. In advanced courses, taken in the program's second and third years, students might learn more about ethical and leadership practices in social work as well as advanced evaluation and treatment options for such areas as Child Protective Services, substance abuse, military veterans, and stress disorders. Throughout the program, students participate in a four-part practicum in which they will manage caseloads and implement intervention methods as they have studied in the program's curriculum.
