Located in Charlotte, this community college offers a Project Management Plus Certificate program that prepares graduates to take certification exams offered by the Project Management Institute. The program consists of five courses focusing on topics like project planning and control, using Microsoft Project and determining business requirements.

Duke University

Duke University is situated in Durham. The university offers a Project Management Certificate program, Project Management Advanced Certificate program and a self-paced, online Project Management Certificate program. Each of these programs is offered through the school's Corporate Education Group, which is a member of the Project Management Group's Global Executive Council and a Charter Registered Education Provider.

The group's Project Management Certificate program teaches students how to oversee a project to a successful completion. It is available both in-person and online, with the former consisting of 10 days and the latter 60 contact hours of study. Regardless of format, classes in the program focus on subjects like controlling project risk, managing project change and establishing a project's scope.

The Project Management Advanced Certificate program requires nine days of study. Students in this program learn how to develop a project management office, strategically align a project portfolio and manage complex projects. This program is designed for experienced project managers.

Students in the group's 180-contact hour self-paced, online Project Management Certificate program complete a total of nine courses. These courses cover topics like communications management, procurement, risk management and human resource management.

Elon University

Elon University is located in the city of its name, Elon. The university offers a 12-hour Certificate in Project Management and a 35-hour Certificate in Project Management Leadership. The former program provides an overview of basic project management principles and is designed for individuals new to the field. The latter program is designed for leaders of project management teams and includes courses in subjects like project procurement, cost control and project graphic.

Forsyth Technical Community College

Forsyth Technical Community College is located in Winston-Salem. The college offers an Associate in Applied Science in Project Management Technology. This degree program requires completion of 68 credit hours of study. Classes in the program cover the nine areas of project management: risk and procurement management, communication, integration, time and cost, scope, quality and human resources. The program's curriculum includes a capstone project.

North Carolina State University

Located in Raleigh, North Carolina State University offers a Project Management Certificate program that requires completion of five courses. Required classes in the program cover topics like team-based project management, negotiation in project management and project management tools. In addition to a certificate, program graduates may receive continuing education, professional education or professional development credits for completed studies.

University of North Carolina at Charlotte

This university is situated in Charlotte.
