New York City Schools with QuickBooks Classes
Several schools that are part of the City University of New York (CUNY) offer courses in QuickBooks, a popular accounting software program. Use the table before the summaries to compare course costs, then read about the course options at the individual schools below. A brief list of other school options can be found after the summaries.
- CUNY Baruch College is located near the Flatiron Building and the Gramercy Park area of downtown New York City. Relevant courses include accounting and advanced accounting with QuickBooks.
- The only community college in Manhattan, CUNY Borough of Manhattan Community College is located along the Hudson River in the TriBeCa area of lower Manhattan, about four miles from downtown. At the school, students can take bookkeeping and advanced bookkeeping with QuickBooks, as well as an American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers prep class.
- CUNY City College of New York is located on 36 acres in Harlem, approximately nine miles from downtown, and transportation options include an escort and a shuttle bus service between the campus and local subway stations. The college offers a basic course in QuickBooks.

CUNY Baruch College
The Division of Continuing and Professional Studies (CAPS) at Baruch College offers in excess of 50 noncredit certificate programs and 1,000 courses throughout the calendar year. Individual classes are offered in accounting, bookkeeping and business practices.
Accounting with QuickBooks Courses
QuickBooks courses offered by Baruch College include Accounting with QuickBooks 2018 and Advanced Quickbooks 2018 for Accounting. These hands-on courses are held in a computer lab and provide students with the information they need to establish and maintain a company's bookkeeping records. The advanced course includes tips and tricks for implementing the QuickBooks program, as well as tips to uncover errors.
CUNY Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC)
The college's Center for Continuing Education and Workforce Development in downtown Manhattan is located on lower Broadway near Battery Park. Business management courses include those in accounting, administration, bookkeeping and writing.
Bookkeeping with QuickBooks Courses
BMCC offers an introductory course in bookkeeping with QuickBooks that includes information about individual business models and the correct way to read ledgers, journals and reports. Accounting topics cover accrual-based record-keeping and the importance of double-entry bookkeeping.
CUNY City College of New York (CCNY)
Through the Continuing and Professional Studies division at the City College of New York, students can pursue certificate courses in bookkeeping and accounting, medical billing and office procedures.
CCNY offers two QuickBooks courses that can also be taken individually. Students who plan to enroll in the program should have a high school diploma and basic keyboarding and computer skills. Topics addressed in the 10-session QuickBooks course include bank statements, sales tax and task management.
Other School Options
Along with the schools listed above, CUNY Hostos Community College in the Bronx offers a course in QuickBooks. In the outer boroughs, the Continuing Studies Center at the New York City College of Technology in Brooklyn offers a course in computerized bookkeeping, and LaGuardia Community College in Long Island City, Queens, provides QuickBooks training courses.
