Award Description

Any female student pursuing an undergraduate college degree in environmental science can apply to be considered for the Study.com Scholarship for Women in Environmental Science award, which totals $500. Study.com’s mission is to make education accessible, and we hope this scholarship helps foster learning in this exciting field.

Selection & Eligibility Criteria

Selection will be based on academic history and extracurricular activities. Financial need will not be considered.

• Applicants should be pursuing an undergraduate degree in environmental science.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent U.S. Resident.
• Must be an enrolled (or accepted) female student in an accredited college or university and planning on continuing the next year.
• Graduating high school seniors who meet the above-mentioned criteria may apply.
• Must have a minimum of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours still to be completed.
• Must consent to provide a digital photograph of self and quote for display on Study.com if notified as the award winner by the selection committee.

2022 Scholarship Recipient

1. How does this scholarship from Study.com help you further your education and ultimately reach your career goals?

I plan on using the Study.com scholarship for Women in Environmental Science to pay off part of the fees for the classes I will be taking over the summer term. During the summer, I will be taking classes at UCI to complete classes for by Bachelor’s degree as well as at another local college to complete some prerequisite classes so that I can apply for Graduate School after graduation.

2. How did you hear about our scholarship?

I heard about this scholarship through the University of California, Irvine’s scholarship database.

3. Which university do you plan to attend or currently attend?

I currently attend the University of California, Irvine and plan on pursuing a Master’s degree after graduating from UCI in 2023.

Scholarship Details

Funds

The winner will be notified following the deadline and the award will be sent directly to the recipient by check to the permanent mailing address noted in the application.

Academic award winners who accumulate more than $600.00 in prizes over a one-year period will be issued an IRS form 1099 (or the equivalent). This will require contest winners to provide Study.com with certain personal information prior to receipt of their winnings.
