Associate of Applied Science in Holistic Health Science

This program requires 64.5 coursework units and trains students in massage and body therapy. Students study and practice different types of massage, including circulatory massage, spa massage, Thai massage, shiatsu, deep tissue massage and foot reflexology. Courses in fundamental healthcare topics ground the curriculum, familiarizing students with human anatomy and physiology, CPR, first aid, nutrition and kinesiology.

Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine

This training enables graduates to take the California state licensing exams, to become nationally certified and to work as independent healthcare providers. In the first year of the 3-year course of study, students learn the contrasts between Oriental and Western views of disease, herbology, tui na (Chinese medical massage) and non-invasive acupuncture practices, such as moxibustion and cupping. They are encouraged to reinforce learning by beginning private bodywork practice. The final year of the program focuses on clinical cases.

Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine

The doctoral degree is a voluntary degree intended for candidates who want to advance the natural health field through in-depth research and clinical work. Doctoral candidates at the college can choose from tracks of study in family medicine, clinical training, evidence-based medicine, classical Chinese medicine and Chinese medical language.
