Degree programs include general education classes in addition to major coursework and all programs incorporate clinical or practicum elements to the curriculum.
Armstrong State University
Armstrong State University in Savannah offers a bachelor's degree program in radiologic sciences with an emphasis in sonography. The core radiologic sciences curriculum includes classes in imaging pathology, human physiology, health research, and patient care; students pursuing the sonography track receive further instruction in areas like scanning techniques, ultrasound instrumentation, and vascular sonography. In addition, the program requires that students undergo several sessions of clinical experience in a supervised professional setting. Columbus Technical College
Students can earn an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Diagnostic Medical Sonography at this technical college located in Columbus.
