Business schools in South New Jersey, often referred to as South Jersey, offer a variety of bachelor's and master's degree programs. In addition to general business studies programs that provide a broad overview of business, students can find programs specifically in accounting, information systems, finance, marketing, management and hospitality management. Some broad business programs, such as the Master of Business Administration (MBA), are available with concentrations. Regardless of the program and specialization chosen, students in most business programs can expect to take common core business courses, and they may also get to take part in for-credit professional internships.
Stockton University, located in Galloway, offers four degree programs through its School of Business. These include three programs for undergrads and one MBA program with concentration options.
Undergraduates can earn a BS in Business Studies degree with a concentration in an area such as finance, management or accounting, or they can earn a BA that provides a general overview of business and management. The BA program in computer science and information systems focuses on computer systems-related business, managerial and organizational techniques, while the BS program allows students to focus their studies on programming, data security and networking.
The MBA program is an 11-course program that can be completed with a general focus or a concentration in accounting. Advanced seminar topics include corporate taxation, e-commerce and human resource management.
Located in Glassboro, Rowan University offers several business undergraduate programs in accounting, finance and marketing. Rowan also offers an MBA program that is available both on campus and online. Students in the Rohrer College of Business also get opportunities for internships.
The accounting bachelor's program prepares students to take the Certified Public Accountant exam, while the finance bachelor's program teaches students about financial and portfolio management, market analysis and risk management. Students in the marketing bachelor's program study Web and Internet strategies, public relations and consumer behavior.
The school's MBA program can be completed in one year of accelerated full-time study; however, those who wish to take classes part-time can finish it in as many as six years. In addition to core and elective course requirements, MBA students can also take courses in a specialization, such as accounting, management or information systems.
