Suffolk University

Suffolk offers a master's degree program in taxation through its business school, as well as a taxation law program housed in the university's law school. At least one year of work experience is preferred for master's degree applicants.

Master of Science in Taxation

Suffolk's Master of Science in Taxation (MST) program comprises classes on such topics as tax policy, financial accounting, and estate taxation. Students also select from elective courses in tax-exempt institutions, personal financial planning, state taxation, and international taxation. Some of the curriculum's core courses may be waived for students who have earned equivalent credit in an undergraduate program.

Juris Doctor

All Juris Doctor (JD) students at Suffolk complete classes in subjects including constitutional law, contracts, torts, and civil procedure. The taxation JD curriculum incorporates further coursework on topics like corporate taxation, gift taxation, and federal income taxation. Students are additionally advised to undergo study in such areas as estate planning, securities regulation, administrative law, and corporate finance. Full-time students can earn a JD in Taxation in three years.

Northeastern University

Northeastern's taxation program runs on a part-time schedule, with classes meeting one weekday evening per week. Admittance is limited to 40-50 students per year.

Master of Science in Taxation

The MST program at Northeastern requires coursework in tax research methods, tax ethics, and federal tax analysis, among other areas. Students also receive instruction on corporate taxation and tax issues pertaining to partnerships. A minimum number of electives in subjects like income tax accounting, consolidated returns, retirement plans, and financial investment planning complete the curriculum.

Bentley University

Students may also partake in an internship or perform supervised professional fieldwork in a low-income taxpayer facility for academic credit.
