University of Texas at Arlington

The Department of Industrial & Manufacturing Systems Engineering is led by 18 full-time faculty members who teach undergraduate and graduate classes. The university is home to two research centers and a research lab that allows students to work alongside professors on research projects. In addition, there is an engineering lab on campus where students can take hands-on classes as part of their degree programs.

Master of Science in Engineering Management

The degree program is designed for professional scientists and engineers who are ready for leadership positions. Before starting the program, students must hold a bachelor's degree in science, math, engineering or a closely related field. As part of the master's degree program, students learn about concepts like accounting analysis, quality management, project management and engineering economics. There's also the opportunity for students to conduct research. By the end of the program, students will understand how to manage a company's technological resources.

University of Texas at Dallas

The Naveen Jindal School of Management prepares students for advanced careers in information technology, software and business. Outside of classes, students have the opportunity to attend seminars that bring together researchers and academic experts who lecture on industry trends. The school also helps students find internships as a way to build their professional experience.

Master of Science in Information Technology and Management

This degree program requires students to earn at least 36 credits through classes that cover business and information technology. Students learn about concepts like financial management, organizational behavior, data management and data communications. Within the degree program, students can choose between five tracks that include enterprise systems, business intelligence and analytics, IT consulting and services management, cyber security management and healthcare systems. The school also gives students the option of taking classes online.

Southern Methodist University

The degree programs at the Department of Engineering Management, Information and Systems in the Lyle School of Engineering are designed to prepare students for management positions in careers covering software, engineering and information systems.

Master of Science in Engineering Management

This degree program is geared towards students who already have undergraduate experience in engineering. The 30-hour program trains students in how to organize and execute technical plans within a business setting. As a whole, the degree program is meant to be well-rounded so that students can gain experience in economics, finance, business, information technology and accounting. Classes cover engineering economy, enterprise fundamentals, reliability engineering and software systems engineering.
