U.S. News & World Report ranked The George Washington University among the top 60 national universities for 2016. The university offers an undergraduate certificate program and one of the oldest Bachelor of Science in Sonography degree in the country. The certificate program includes tracks in cardiac, vascular or general sonography. Students in the bachelor's program also take coursework in cardiac, vascular and general sonography, after which they can choose one or two of these areas to focus on during their clinical training.
Lewis University in Romeoville, IL

In 2016, Lewis University, a coeducational Catholic institution, was ranked 24th among Midwestern regional colleges by U.S. News & World Report. Lewis offers a Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography through its Department of Biology. Required courses include topics in biology, genetics, microbiology and chemistry; students also learn about physics and calculus. Additional programs include a certificate in sonography and a double major in sonography and biology.
Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI

U.S. News & World Report ranked Ferris State University in the top 75 among regional universities in the Midwest in 2016. The university offers an Associate of Applied Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Unique to the program is the opportunity for students to practice their imaging skills at on-campus, simulated hospital settings. They also complete clinical internships in the final semester of their program.
College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, IL

The College of DuPage offers certificate and associate's degree programs. At the certificate level, students can choose between diagnostic medical imaging sonography or diagnostic medical imaging vascular sonography. At the associate's level, students can major in sonography. After completing a program, students may earn credentials in specialties such as abdomen/superficial structures, obstetrics/gynecology, vascular technology and SPI physics.
