Students are required to complete 31 credits of core courses in visual media, mass media and society, interpersonal theory and professional presentations. The program offers emphases in advertising, news media and public relations. Broadcast-related courses include multimedia video journalism, broadcast media principles and practices, video and film production and broadcast performance. The program also requires that students participate in an internship.
Salt Lake Community College
The Communication Department at Salt Lake Community College in Salt Lake City offers an Associate of Applied Science in Video/Radio production. Other offerings include speech communication and mass communications. The school gives students the chance to gain practical experience in the field through a student-run newspaper, news station and radio station.
