Georgetown University is located across three in the Washington, D.C. area. The most popular undergraduate majors are international relations, political science, finance, English and psychology. Georgetown University offers degree programs at the bachelors, masters and doctoral level.

Founded in 1789, Georgetown University is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious institutions in the U.S. A private institution established in the Catholic and Jesuit traditions, the university played an integral role in the political and cultural life of the nation in its infancy and has since maintained a longstanding tradition of advancing social justice. Featuring rigorous academic programs, Georgetown is ranked #23 in the America's Best Colleges 2008 report.

Georgetown operates three campuses in the Washington, D.C., area that support an undergraduate student body of nearly 7,000. The main campus serves as a beautiful setting for what is a close-knit community with over 70 percent of students living in university residences.

More than 140 student organizations also enrich student life by providing diverse recreational activities. Students also show strong school pride in the Georgetown Hoya athletic teams, many of which rank among the elite of the Big East Conference.

Of the 'most selective' universities in the nation, Georgetown has a freshman acceptance rate of 22 percent. Incoming freshmen typically have ACT scores between 27 and 32 and SAT marks in the 1290 to 1490 range.
