Georgia State University offers degree programs at the bachelors, masters, specialist and doctorate levels.

Georgia State University, an urban research university located in downtown Atlanta, is the second largest university in the state of Georgia. With a diverse student population from all 50 states and over 145 countries, Georgia State University is best known for its business, law and science programs. GSU's programs in business, real estate, insurance and risk management and management information systems recently took top 50 honors on the America's Best Colleges list.

More than 250 fields of study are offered through some 52 Georgia State degree programs at the bachelor's, master's, specialist and doctorate levels. The most popular majors are business, management and marketing, social sciences, psychology, visual and performing arts and education. Pre-professional programs are also offered in law and medicine.

Students who attend this university can also choose to participate in GSU's Freshman Learning Communities, where freshman select a pre-planned schedule of courses that surrounds them with roughly 25 other students with similar interests. GSU students can also take part in almost 250 registered organizations and 24 fraternities and sororities.

With a 52 percent acceptance rate, Georgia State's admission process is considered 'selective.' Incoming freshmen typically have a grade point average of 3.3 and SAT test scores between 990 and 1,190.
