Ohio State University is located in Columbus, Ohio. The most popular undergraduate majors are psychology, communications, English, human development and political science. Ohio State University offers bachelors, masters and doctorate level degree programs.

Ohio State University is the flagship institution of the University System of Ohio. It is among the best public universities in the nation and recognized as a leader in research. Founded in 1870, the university has been designated a 'Public Ivy,' and earned an overall ranking of #57 on the 2008 America's Best Colleges list from U.S. News & World Report. Among the university's many strengths are programs in business, engineering, medicine, law and the humanities.

Covering more than 3,400 acres, Ohio State's sprawling campus offers nearly endless possibilities for students both academically and socially. State-of-the-art facilities include sophisticated laboratories, medical centers and technology institutes. The libraries on campus, housing nearly 6,000 volumes, make up one of the largest systems in the nation.

But there is more to life than study at Ohio State. Students looking to become active in university life don't have difficulty finding their interests represented in at least one of the 800 organizations available on campus. Those interested in sports enjoy supporting the Buckeyes, Ohio State's Big Ten Conference athletic teams.

Ohio State University at Columbus, with an undergraduate student body of more than 38,000, is the largest campus in the U.S. One of the 'more selective' institutions in the nation, the school has an overall acceptance rate of 68 percent. Most incoming students have a grade-point average of 3.9 and typically score in the 1090 - 1310 range on the SAT and the 24 - 29 range on the ACT.
