Pennsylvania State University is located in State College, Pennsylvania approximately 180 miles east of Pittsburg. The most popular undergraduate degrees are business, engineering, communications, education and social sciences. Penn State offers bachelors, masters and doctoral level degree programs.

Pennsylvania State University, commonly referred to as Penn State, is a public school in the central part of the state. Founded as an agricultural institution more than 150 years ago, Penn State offers diverse academic programs in all major fields of study. Penn State has an overall national ranking of 48 on the America's Best Colleges list.

Penn State's University Park campus is in the State College borough of Pennsylvania. Occupying more than 16,000 acres in the area affectionately referred to as 'Happy Valley', the campus is home to 40,000 undergraduate and graduate students.

Penn State offers bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree programs through 13 schools. Popular undergraduate majors include business, engineering, communications, education and social sciences.

The campus offers many opportunities to stay active in university life through 675 campus organizations, including a healthy Greek system.

Penn State has an undergraduate student body of 36,000 at its University Park campus. It is one of the 'more selective' schools in the nation with a freshman acceptance rate of 58 percent. Incoming students have a grade-point average of 3.5 and generally score in the 1080 to 1280 range on the SAT.
