Southwest Tennessee Community College

Southwest Tennessee Community College is a 2-year, public school in downtown Memphis. For students interested in Web design, the school's information technology program offers two associate's degree programs related to Web technology.

Associate of Applied Science in Computer Information Technology: Programming Concentration

This program requires the completion of 60 credits spread over four semesters. The first semester covers computer applications, HTML and CSS, programming and Logic. The second semester will explore areas like UNIX/LINUX operating systems and database concepts. Additional topics include Java programming, database SQL and .NET web-based clients.

Tennessee College of Applied Technology at Memphis

This public school is designed to provide workforce development programs in the Memphis, TN, area. It is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education and offers both full-time and online programs.

Computer Based Graphics Design Program

This program aims to provide students with a broad understanding of desktop publishing, Web page design and computer graphics. Students learn how to create logos, publications and Web sites through practical training. Some of the courses offered in the 1,728-hour-program cover Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, graphic communications and PC/Mac fundamentals.
