Central Ohio Technical College

Central Ohio Technical College has campuses in Newark, Coshocton, Mount Vernon, and Reynoldsburg. The school's Associate of Science program in digital media design includes a web design concentration with courses in digital software basics, drawing fundamentals, multimedia production, and mobile site design. The curriculum culminates in a required capstone course, in which students develop a web design project suitable for their professional portfolios. Students may enroll in this program on a full- or part-time basis, with a number of courses available on weekends or in the evenings.

Cincinnati State Technical and Community College

Located in Cincinnati, Cincinnati State Technical and Community College offers an associate program in web and multimedia design. The program includes courses in technical writing, digital media, 2-D graphics, multimedia video applications, and programming, among other subjects. A professional fieldwork requirement is also part of the curriculum. Most of the program's courses occur during regular business hours, though a few are offered in the evenings or on weekends. Cincinnati State also offers a certificate program in web design. The school hosts a computer lab open to all students, as well as a staffed student resource center with computer and Internet access. Free wireless Internet service is available throughout the campus.

Franklin University

Franklin University's main campus is in Columbus, with additional Ohio campuses in Beavercreek, Delaware, Dublin, and Westerville. Lorain County Community College is located in Elyria and has a student population of almost 13,000. The school awards an Associate of Applied Business (AAB) in Computer Information Systems - Web Development, as well as a technical certificate in computer information systems - web design fundamentals. The AAB curriculum includes subjects like database integration, client server scripting, and e-commerce, with electives offered in such areas as programming and multimedia. Students may also undertake approved professional fieldwork for academic credit.

Stark State College

North Canton-based Stark State College offers an AAB program in web design and development with classes in web graphics, programming logic, data modeling, and search engine optimization. Students need to have Adobe Dreamweaver, Flash, and Photoshop software to fulfill the program requirements. A 1-year certificate program in web design is also available.

Terra State Community College

Almost 3,600 students attend Terra State Community College in Fremont. Terra's AAS in Web Design curriculum comprises courses in digital editing, Flash, and 3-D computer animation. Students must complete a capstone course, in which they produce a final multimedia project in web or CD-ROM format. Terra offers on-campus career assistance through its Career Service Office, where students can receive help finding employment, developing resumes, and cultivating job interview skills.

University of Findlay

The University of Findlay is located in Findlay and offers a minor in digital media. Students explore multimedia, digital media and mass communication, digital imaging, and digital design. They get hands-on experience to aid in transition to a career.

University of Mount Union

The University of Mount Union in Alliance offers a minor in web design. It is part of the school's Computer Science and Information Systems Department, which employs nine faculty members. Students minoring in web design can learn about digital video, Flash, and interactive media programming. Mount Union is home to the Society of Computing Students, a student organization that coordinates networking, competition-based, and leadership opportunities for its members.

Washington State Community College

Based in Marietta, Washington State Community College offers an associate degree program in digital technology with several areas of emphasis. The curricula for the web application programming, digital media, and computer support technician specializations all include at least one course in web design, while the concentration in computer graphics is tailored specifically to students seeking web design careers. This track includes courses in color theory, interface design, 3-D animation, drawing, and simulation. In addition to the associate degree program, Washington State Community College offers a certificate program in computer systems with a web design course.
