Brookhaven College

Web Development Certificate

In this certificate program, students acquire skills for entry-level work and focus on the visual presentation of websites in addition to the software applications necessary for creating a web page. Courses include digital imaging, SQL, web design and web programming. Students will have to complete at least 17 credits before earning this certificate.

Web Developer Specialist Certificate

This certificate program is intended to help students prepare for entry-level work in web production. Course topics include web design, project analysis and PHP programming. Web Production and Design Certificate

The courses in this Level II certificate program can also be applied to the associate's degree program in web production and design. Students will learn advanced web design techniques, digital imaging and design principles and database operations. The certificate can be earned in 3 semesters and includes such courses as digital video, interactive digital media and portfolio development. Students are expected to have fundamental knowledge of computers and operating systems before enrolling in the program.

Associate of Applied Science in Web Production and Design

Students can earn their associate's degree in web production and design in 4 semesters. The program will teach students how to use the Internet as an interactive medium while they learn about advanced page design, client- and server-side programming and interpersonal workgroup skills. Composition, web design, marketing principles, Internet commerce, computer programming and project analysis are examples of program courses.

Richland College

Richland College offers certificates and an associate's degree in web design and development. Both Level I and Level II certificates are available. Students can expect to spend anywhere from 3-4 semesters at Richland in order to complete a web design program.

Visual Design Level I Certificate

This certificate curriculum teaches students about interactive animation. Students can acquire the skills needed to create multimedia features for Internet delivery. To earn the certificate, students will study such topics as business, web design, digital video and programming fundamentals for 3 semesters.

Visual Design Level II Certificate

This 4-semester program offers students hands-on learning experiences through an optional internship in the final semester. Class examples include game design and development, digital art, digital media programming and web authoring. Elective course options include web design, multi-user game programming, computer illustration and level design.

Associate in Applied Science in Multimedia Web Design

While enrolled in the associate's degree program, students will learn how to work as members of a web development team.
